Referrals

Chamber members are recommended in response to requests of specific types of services and/or goods. A significant number of people visit, phone, and e-mail the Chamber each year in search of lodging, businesses, services, and places to visit. The Chamber staff recommends Chamber of Commerce members. Doing so recognizes members as a local support network that benefits the membership and the entire community.

Newsletter

Members receive the Chamber’s quarterly newsletter. This provides up-top-date information important to businesses and notification of all Chamber activities. All new members are listed in the newsletter, and business members can be featured in the Spotlight, which is free advertising.

Chamberlink

Chamberlink is a weekly e-mail publication provided by the Chamber for its members. All members are invited to contribute events, notice of seminars, or any other notices that they feel would be of interest to their fellow members. The Chamber staff informs members of area events, items of interest, and updates on what the Chamber is doing.

Special List Publication

Visitors often inquire about accommodations, realtors, restaurants, and places to visit while in the area.  To meet their needs, the Chamber produces all these listings and they are available upon request. The Chamber regularly sends requested information by mail, e-mail, and gives to visitors to the Chamber.

Breakfast with the Chamber and Business After Hours

The Chamber schedules quarterly breakfast meetings and quarterly Business After Hours. Members are invited to socialize and network with fellow members. The events are held at different locations, usually on site of the hosting business. It is the perfect opportunity to meet other members, make new friends and establish new business contacts in a relaxed atmosphere

Grand Opening/Ribbon Cuttings

The Chamber coordinates with businesses on their grand openings and holds a ribbon cutting welcoming them into the community, and inviting them to become a member.

Community Involvement

The Chamber sponsors Spring Bonanza in April. This festival highlights the arts and creative crafts. This one day festival brings locals and visitors into the area, and local businesses benefit as well.
The Chamber sponsors Holiday on Main in December, an area favorite, with holiday themed activities to go along with the parade.
The Chamber partners with Lincoln County for Thunder Over Thurmond in July. This fireworks extravaganza brings in visitors from outlying areas. Families can enjoy music, picnics, and finish with the spectacular fireworks in the evening.  The Chamber also supports the activities of John de la Howe Dairy Festival, Gold Rush Festival, and Plum Branch Yacht Club

Chamber members can use the meeting room for business meetings.

The Chamber is a Wi-Fi Hot Spot available to members and visitors.
Chamber members enjoy discounts on faxing and copying documents.

The Chamber has produced a County map which may be purchased at the Chamber. The map is available to newcomers, visitors, and businesses locating in the area.

The Chamber has produced a brochure highlighting the areas historical sites, and pointing out the recreation area in the county. This brochure is free of charge to visitors, newcomers and Chamber members.

Annual Meeting

Each member receives one complimentary ticket to the Annual Meeting. The dinner meeting highlights the year’s activities and recognizes member’s accomplishments. There is a keynote speaker, and there is election of a new Board of Directors, as needed.

Business and Government Relations

The Chamber works with the town and county, and partners with other agencies in an effort to bring more business and industry, as well as tourism, to McCormick County. The goal is to insure progressive, diversified economic growth, yet maintain the outstanding quality of life.

The Chamber has information available for businesses looking to locate in the community. Information is available on properties as well as Small Business Development information for new or expanding businesses.

Leadership Opportunities

Leadership opportunities exist for all members. The Board of Directors are elected from the membership representing, small business, professional, retail, and industry. All members are encouraged to take part in Board Activities.
