Automobile Registration

Take current registration card, Title, or Bill of Sale to Auditor’s Office in the County Court House (852-2107). Ask about high mileage discount. Pay County vehicle tax to Treasurer in County Court House (852-2332). Take proof of insurance, including name, date & policy #, Receipt from Treasurer, Registration Card, Title or Bill of Sale, and odometer reading to SC Hwy. Dept. located on SC Rd 53 near Airport. Pay state sales tax on new purchases at Hwy. Dept. (852-3229)

Driver’s License

You must obtain SC license plates within 45 days and driver’s license within 80 days after moving into the state. Military personnel may keep using their out-of-state license & tags as long as they are valid. Apply at SC Hwy Dept on SC Rd. 53. Anyone applying for a license for the 1st time must present a birth certificate, SS card. Call for brochure. (465-3229)

Building permits are required by the Town of McCormick (852-2225) the County (852-2433)
A Business License is required in the Town of McCormick for temporary or full time operations (852-2225)
The Town of McCormick has a sign ordinance.
Legal Drinking Age is 21 years.
Wearing a seat belt is required.
A Child Safety Seat is required for children under 4 years of age in front seat. Contact the Highway Department (465-2934) for additional restrictions.

Tri-County C & D Landfill on Hwy 378E.
